Program Note
“Mountain Song,” is a love song set in a time of climate destruction. It’s also a speculative folk song that might be sung one day by a human living on a planet just a few degrees warmer than our own. At the beginning, it’s a love song about travel (to higher ground), and at the end, it’s a love song about memory (once all singing is done).
